From possession to first score
Opening role
Player, position and current-team starting samples inform opening shot shares. A leading full-game scorer is not automatically the preferred first scorer. New-team and rookie samples borrow prior evidence and remain limited.
Scoring and second chances
The simulation continues through turnovers, two- and three-point attempts, free-throw trips, misses, offensive rebounds and reset/putback opportunities. Each market stops on its own qualifying score.
Every possible scorer
Game probabilities sum to 100% across both starting fives and an other/unlisted allowance. Team probabilities sum to 100% separately for each team. Display rounding can differ slightly.
Historical evidence comes from public NBA final box scores and play-by-play, with an ESPN final-game fallback mapped to official NBA identities. The history covers the 2024–25 and 2025–26 regular seasons plus completed 2026–27 games.
Only games from earlier Eastern dates enter training. Six-hour injury and lineup gates apply. Confirmed starters, sufficient current-team history and a baseline comparison are required before a forecast can qualify for forward-test tracking. All other forecasts remain provisional diagnostics.
Unusual substitutions, rare pre-tip technical free throws, opening play calls and defender-specific schemes are not explicitly modeled. First points, first field goal and first team scorer are different markets. No live sportsbook feed or profit claim is included.
